PLAZA 8. WHAT THE UNDERGROUND GIRLS ARE WEARING UNDERNEATH

Warhol Factory
USA 1966

Plaza 8 was recently discovered in the archive of the Maysles brothers, for whom Danny Williams worked as a cutter. In 1966 Andy Warhol agreed to make a publicity film for women's underwear for a New York boutique. The material eventually found its way to the Maysles, and today it is hard to know who contributed how much to the finished film. «An Underground Film by Andy Warhol - High Priest of Pop» can be read at the beginning of this little cinematic fireworks display, and the «dirty girl» of the Factory, Mary Woronov, appears in red double exposure over the flawless lingerie models - as though in a horror movie.

This film is screened together with Showman.
